Airline mistake fares—also called error fares—happen when airlines or travel sites accidentally publish the wrong price, usually in the traveler’s favor.

That said, there’s always a small risk. To play it safe, wait 48 hours before booking non-refundable hotels, tours, or other travel plans—just in case the airline cancels the ticket.
